Young Audiences New Jersey offers three types of programming that make up the core of our work. On their own, each is powerful; when fully integrated, they transform school communities.
...Creativity can change the world. These are our vehicles for change...
Assembly Programs
Young Audiences’ top-notch professional artists inspire thousands of children each year with music, theatre, dance, and the visual arts. Every program is infused with equal parts artistry and interactivity for edge-of-the-seat excitement and learning that lasts long after the performance.
Artist-in-Residence/Workshop Programs
Side-by-side with professional teaching artists, students experience a hands-on approach to creativity in and outside of the classroom with our artist-in-residence programs. Whether making digital films, writing and producing plays, or learning how to tango, our compelling programs encourage children to roll up their sleeves and create. Signature programs include the Ennis Beley Photography Project*, MetLife Dance for Life, Make your own Radio Show, Pixel Nation, and the Artists-in-Education Long-term Residency Program, funded by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
Professional Development
Our award-winning professional development trainings help teachers turn their classrooms into dynamic learning environments. Our trainings also provide new ways to approach literacy, math, science, history, and humanities through the arts. Hallmark professional development programs include Creative Beginnings for early childhood educators, Family Arts and Creativity, Lessons in Tolerance, and Creative Teaching Techniques.
